nothing makes me happier than when i’m taking pictures. nothing makes my soul shine brighter and vibrate higher than when i have a camera in my hand. i am at my absolute best when i am capturing the world around me, through these eyes, through fotography. creating memorable images is what i do best. i am in love with fotography, and it is in love with me.
fotography is my absolute passion in life.
snow, however – is not. but we are working on establishing a healthy symbiotic relationship…

{whatever wednesday – an unofficial review : town.}
19 Febso, i randomly and spontaneously my have potentially found my new favourite restaurant. the charming place is called town. and the period is part of the title, so don’t forget it. 😉 if the rumour that their menu changes up frequently is in fact accurate, i may make it official. in the meantime, here is what i had for lunch the other day with a friend.
maple-braised pork belly with caramelized onions, pear, and bacon bits on a bed of brussel sprout leaves… and my favourite thing we ordered — it was just heavenly!
rabbit tacos with some kind of amazing salsa and a creamy mild cheese… shredded carrots, pepitas, scallions, and some other deliciousness. and hey – don’t judge me.
shrimp po’ boy… done a little differently, but still good. shrimp was super tasty as well as the homemade sweet potato chips, and the perfectly dill/sweet combo pickles were also excellent.
i tell ya one thing – i cannot wait to go back for dinner!!!!!!! 😀

i went to work – this is what i see when i arrive… 🙂
i had edible flowers in a salad i bought at the market… that was a first, for sure! especially considering i just grabbed it from the salad bar… i also discovered that they sell boars head meat, which got me all kinds of excited and happy! 😀
i took a selfie at the bus-stop…
i enjoyed this amazing spread with some friends…
i saw this sunset over mt. sopris…

{the bi-annual cattle round-up}
11 Novi had never seen anything like this and i was so happy to get immersed right in the middle of it!
remember last friday i wrote about the coolest cattle?! well, as i was fotographing them that day, i inadvertently got stuck behind the twice-a-year cattle round-up that takes place here in town. i was pretty much cracking-up the entire time and also felt so privileged to have witnessed this event, camera-in-hand.
it was the day of the eclipse, too… and the sunset was unbelievable!
i know they’re “just cows”, but i love them. and what i want to know is…
how the heck did they round up all these cows without me noticing? one can’t get off this road, so-to-speak, and i had just turned around to head back down the hill when i saw this… Continue reading

26 Octanimals {and all of nature} can teach us so much about awareness. they can teach us about patience, presence, process, and perfect magic.
animals behave from instinct, not from thought. i find it comforting when an animal crosses my path. i feel their energy offers us much insight into a greater cosmic awareness.
so, here are a few friends i made recently :
this was the “little caterpillar that could” – i watched him patiently inch across the street just in time before a big truck came rolling through…
this dog followed me all the way into town one day… and right after i took this foto, i looked up and a huge raven flew over my head. {talk about magic!}

i spotted this group of deer just up the road, when i took shelby out for her first cruise after getting a new timing belt… i am blessed to have witnessed this, and to have had my camera handy.
i know they’re not “reindeer” but, the title seemed fitting 😉

{tiny tuesday – details matter!}
22 Octsometimes when living and/or working in/with small spaces, practicality typically outweighs aesthetics…however, that is not the case in the amazing tiny home i live in.

this week, i wanted to focus on some of the features that make this home extra cool and special. the builder thought of everything to make it functional and practical while keeping the visual appeal as well as the modern-meets-mountain feel.
one of my favourite things in the kitchen is the sink! for one, i love a stainless steel sink. so easy to clean and just looks sharp, right?! this one is complete with garbage disposal and stretchy-faucet hose thing. i love those, too!
and i love this second little sink to the left… so practical that it doubles as a colander! can also use it to dry dishes or rinse veggies prior to cooking. genius. Continue reading
